Ed-Ventures 2010 for Kids
A FREE SUMMER PROGRAM FOR KIDS AGES 4 TO 10
- All sessions include a variety of educational games and activities such as science experiments, art projects, stories, songs, guest teachers, walks, and more. Our facilitators are first-aid certified, experienced child-care professionals.
- Parents or guardians are expected to stay with the child and participate in the 2 hour learning adventure.

- All sessions run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM . Meet at the wall-tent outside Yukon Conservation Society ( 302 Hawkins Street ) unless specified otherwise.
- To ensure a space for your child, early registration is recommended. Parental supervision is required for ages 4-6 and strongly recommended for ages 7-10.

Where does all that stuff go when I flush the toilet? Learn why we need clean water and how to keep it clean. Take education to activism with a “Chalk-Walk” around town. . .

Become an animal super sleuth! Come learn about tracks, trails, scat and more… then look for clues in your own backyard!
TRASH OR TREASURE?

Reduce, Reuse, Re-Think! Learn all about compost, recycling, and reusing “trash.” Take part in our Eco-Challenge game and make some “Garbage Art” to take home!
- AGES 7-10 ONLY: MEET AT RAVEN RECYCLING AT 10:00 AM, RETURNING TO YCS AT 10:30 AM – RAIN OR SHINE.

RIVER DWELLERS

Why is the river important to me? Discover how people and animals use the river for water, food, and travel. Our imaginations will soar into the past and the future with games and activities by the S.S. Klondike.
IN SEARCH OF INSECTS
Tuesday, Aug 11: Ages 4-6 / Thursday, Aug 13: Ages 7-10
Come learn about all sorts of buzzing, wriggling, swimming and crawling critters. Learn about insect life cycles, and what keeps those bees so busy! Transform yourself into an interesting insect and see the world from a bug’s eye-view!
GONE FISHING
Tuesday, Aug 17: Ages 4-6 / Thursday, Aug 19: Ages 7-10
Pike? Chinook? Rainbow trout? Discover what kinds of fish live in the Yukon River, and why it’s important to protect them.
- MEET AT THE FISH LADDER AT 10:00 AM, RETURNING TO YCS AT 10:30 AM – RAIN OR SHINE.
