Contact YCS at 668-5678 or ycshikes@ycs.yk.ca for more information. : WEATHER Phone (668-5678) if it looks like it is going to be inclement. Walks may be cancelled if weather conditions are going to be miserable or if conditions are unsafe. Be prepared for all weather and trail conditions with good footwear, rain and wind outerwear! Bring water and a bag lunch if the hike is longer. Don't forget sunscreen, a hat and bug dope.

THE HIKES Fish Lake Trail July 19th (12 pm to 4 pm) Challenge Rating: HARD To celebrate Parks Day, our Guest Speaker will provide an interpretative talk on the delicate balance between conservation and recreation. Dawson Area Hike July 19th (11 am to 1 pm) Challenge Rating: MODERATE Enjoy a mid-day hike during the Dawson City Music Festival. Carcross Dunes Hike August 1st (1 pm to 3 pm) Challenge Rating: EASY A local botanist wil provide an interpretive talk on the ice plant, Baikal Sedge (carex sabulosa). Dawson Salmon Hike August 17th (1 pm to 4 pm) Challenge Rating: EASY Learn about Yukon River Salmon during the Discovery Day weekend in Dawson City.

WHO The Whitehorse Trail Guiding Program is a free service offered by the Yukon Conservation Society.
